How do I make programs available to different users in windows 8 on the same computer?

How do I make programs available to different users in Windows 8 on the same computer?  It's very nice to have my settings and apps go with me from device to device--but if I have MS Office under my sign in, how does my wife use it under hers?  It doesn't seem right to have to install it under both profiles as that's an incredible waste of hard drive space!  Any suggestions?

Hi,

Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Community!

Based on the description, it appears that you want to give access to MS Office to other user account on Windows 8.

To guide you in the right direction, I need a few more information from the computer that has the issue. Please help me answer the following questions:

1.      Is the issue confined to Office application or happens with all the Desktop Apps?

2.      Is your wife's user account also an Administrator account?

Usually the desktop Apps like Office and Firefox are available on all the users once installed.

Your reply is very important for us to ensure a proper resolution. Please get back to us with the above information in order to assist you accordingly.

Hello, Sir.

So far I can't seem to detect a pattern as to which apps it occurs on.  In "Office", for example, some modules have made the cross over (like Excel) while some haven't (Word). There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to it.  My main concern; however, is with Office and iTunes (including our iTunes library).

....and "no", hers is not an administrator account.

Thanks

I am the only Admin.

I have my son and wife with different accounts on my new windows 8 Dell w/ Office.  Only I can Print or see the icons on the main page.  I want all accounts to have access to Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and so on) and see the Office o[tions.

My wife and son do not have admin accounts.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you for your time.

Keith

Hi Keith,

1.      Is Ms Office showing on their user accounts?

2.      What happens when they try to access Ms Office and printer?

I copied all of my word files from my old PC on to my USB to copy to my new PC and now I can't get into them or print. Why is that?

I have exactly the same issue.  I can access the programs I installed including Office 2013 and the other user of this system can't access them when she is signed in.  I need to have this available to both users.  I am the administrator on this system.

What needs to be done to change this so both users can access the programs I have installed?

So far only Office. Windows 8 is really difficult to do anything in when you are only trying to set up the computer so it can be used.
