Q: event id 7000 This thread is locked from future replies

when I start the computer, there is an error,  event id 7000. it says" the Microsoft account sign in service failed to start due to the following error; the service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion. please help

Hi Mark,

Were there any changes (hardware or software) made to the computer prior to the issue?

This problem may occur if a device is not connected to the computer but the driver service of the device is enabled. For example, the following events are logged when the computer does not have a parallel port, a DVD drive, or a CD drive.

Place the computer in clean boot and check if it helps.

To help troubleshoot error messages and other issues, you can start Windows 8 by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This kind of startup is known as a "clean boot." A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

How to perform a clean boot to troubleshoot a problem in Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8

Note: Check the title “How to reset the computer to start as usual after troubleshooting with clean boot” for reverting to normal mode.

Please reply if you have any questions.
