Thanks.

Hi,

Thank you for posting in the Microsoft Community Forum.

From your description I understand that you are unable to hear sound while starting program from start menu.

I would suggest you to follow the mentioned methods:

Method 1:

Run Playing Audio troubleshooter.

Follow these steps and check if it helps.
a. Press Windows Key +R, type Control Panel.
b. Type troubleshooting in the search bar, click on troubleshooting.
c. Click on Hardware and Sound, click on Playing Audio troubleshooter.
d. Follow the steps from the wizard to run the troubleshooter.

Method 2: Check whether dependency services are running.

A. On the desktop, right-click (or press and hold) the speaker icon on your taskbar, and then selectPlayback Devices.

B. Right-click (or press and hold) the white empty space, and then select bothShow Disconnected Devices and Show Disabled Devices.

C. If you see icons for your speakers and headphones now, right-click (or press and hold) the correct sound device, and then select Set as default device.

- Audio service not started:

A. Search for Services.msc.

B. Scroll through the list of services, right-click (or press and hold)Windows Audio, and then selectStart.

Also check to make sure the dependencies are started as well:

• Multimedia Class Scheduler

• Remote Procedure Call

• Windows Audio Endpoint Builder

Hi LilDark,

Some users were able to resolve the issue by disabling optimization. Follow the steps Sameer Vijaykar gives in this thread on 10/22 (a more detailed post on 10/25).

Let us know if this helps.
