Videos not playing in Windows8

I bought a Toshiba Satellite L855 S5112 in March 2013 and it worked as I expected from this manufacturer-not a problem. But I fooled with it and videos stopped playing. I tried all of the troubleshooting ideas and finally did a system restore after I became annoyed and perceived other problems. I continued having the same problem, and now, after two PC refreshes, YouTube videos have stopped playing. I, obviously messed up and not the laptop manufacturer.So.no Webvideo from ANY source is playing. I would really appreciate a detailed approach to correcting this since I created it.

Thank you.

Most new machines come with a recovery partition allowing you to go back to the time of purchase, you will have to check your user guides for instructions.

These options are built-in to Windows 8 also.

On that site click on Drivers and Updates.  Choose Drivers, look at AMD Display Driver. and choose the latest model probably File: tc50125300i.exe (208.22M)?  This assumes you have a AMD Display in that machine.

Try right-clicking on the actual tc50125300i.exe after you have downloaded it and select the "Run As Administrator" option?  Do so even if your user is an Admin.
