Sound doesn't work after installing Windows 8

After installing Windows 8, I lost all sound.  My volume is all the way up so I don't know what else to do.  It worked fine yesterday before installing Windows 8.  iTunes won't make sound and neither will youtube or any other video.

I tired VipinPalathully Gopi's method and it didn't work. I worked on the problem a few more hours til I found this simple solution. Thank you for trying VipinPalathully Gopi.

Here is the solution which worked for me:

Go to Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Sound > Playback tab.
Right click on a playback device, and choose Configure Speakers.
