How do I fix a corrupted library on Windows 8?

I cannot access my libraries from - it displays a message saying "the library is no longer working". I cannot even play the files through the Video or Music apps. The troubleshooter only detects the problem, however it does not fix the issue. How do I resolve this?

right click libraries in explorer, then restore default libraries
