Black screen in you tube but have latest flash player : windows 8

I've installed windows 8 and all is well apart from when trying to playing videos

I get  message in youtube through metro and on desktop that I need to install the latest version of flash

when I go to Adobe it says I am running it,

can't find help anywhere and fed up!

As I understand you are facing issue with playing Youtube videos in Internet Explorer 10. I would like to know more information about the issue, so that we could help you better.

1.       Were you able to play Youtube videos successfully earlier?

2.       Are you facing the same issue with both Desktop and Modern UI Internet Explorers?

3.       Are you using any proxy connection to connect to Internet?

4.       Is this issue confined to Youtube videos?

 

Let us try the following methods; I am sure this will help you resolve the issue.

Method 1:

Run the Internet Explorer performance troubleshooter.

Follow the steps to run the troubleshooter:

a.       Press Windows key + C on your keyboard to show the Charms bar.

b.      Type Troubleshooting and click Troubleshooting under Settings.

c.       Now type Troubleshooter in the search option.

d.      In the search option in the new windows, type Performance and click on Internet Explorer Performance and follow the prompts.

 

Method 2:

If you are using any Proxy connection, then try disabling the proxy connection.

Follow the steps to disable proxy:

a.       Click the Gear box at the top right corner in internet explorer.

b.      Click the Tools button, and then click Internet Options.

c.       Click the Connections tab, and then click LAN settings.

d.      Uncheck the option “Use a Proxy Server for your LAN”.

e.      Click Apply and Ok to cave changes.

 

Method 3:

Try resetting Internet Explorer and check if it works.

Follow the steps to reset Internet Explorer:

a.       Press Windows Key + R and type inetcpl.cpl and press Enter.

b.      Click on Advanced tab.

c.       Click on the Reset button.

d.      Select the Delete personal settings check box if you would like to remove browsing history, search providers, Accelerators, home pages, and InPrivate Filtering data.

e.      In the Reset Internet Explorer Settings dialog box, click Reset.

f.        When Internet Explorer finishes restoring the settings, click Close, and then click OK.
