After I upgraded to Windows 8 with Media Center my Media Center Extender has a black screen and no sound.

I have a Linksys DMA2100 Media Center Extender that worked fine with Windows 7. After I upgraded to Windows 8 my extender shows that it is connecting, the the screen goes black with no sound.
the third party Linksys extenders don't work with Windows 8 for me. They barely work
with Windows 7. Linksys discontinued them a long time ago and there will not be
updates from Linksys to make them work with W8. Same story with HP and D-Link
third party extenders.
Right now the only choice is an Xbox 360. Ceton is supposed to be coming out
with a NEW extender.
Please don't shoot the messenger, I own all three 3rd party devices. My Main WMC
pc will be staying on W7 forever.
