1080p video playback on Windows 8

I use Adobe Premiere Elements to create a 1080p mpeg2 video and it plays fine on all of my Windows 7 machines.  However on my Win 8 machine and my surface pro an error comes up saying it is not a supported format.  Are there updated video codecs for Windows 8?

Hi,

For some reason Windows Media Player is missing Codecs without Media Center being activated.

I have read of some success with 3rd party codecs, but I didn't have much luck. I resolved my problem by activating Media Center...

WMP12 still won't play DVD Disks or Files though, due to licensing reasons, but Media Center will.

Did this solve your problem?

Sorry this didn't help.

Great! Thanks for marking this as the answer.
