Windows Store Applications consuming enormous amounts of RAM (Windows 8 Core x86)

My Windows 8 tablet keeps consuming over 200MB of ram with Windows Store apps (NOT desktop applications), and will occasionally slow down my Tablet's animations (window animations, start screen animation) and even the rare delay of my touch screen happens (appears to be non-responsive, then responds to the very touch input placed 4 - 5 seconds previous)

They also fail to close. I will drag down the app to close it, but it will remain on task manager consuming the ram till I end task.

Why are my apps consuming this excessive amount of ram and failing to close?

I am using a Samsung Ativ Smart PC (Model 500T)

OS: Windows 8 Core 32-Bit (x86)

RAM: 2GB

Processor: Intel Atom 1.8GHz

I have tried these options. There are no updates in the Samsung sw updater app (Samsung currently does not offer updates through their site for my device. Only through their app)

Furthermore, it seems that most of my apps are no longer affected (ive had the problem for a bit, just recently got around to posting on here about it). However, Fresh Paint and Pinball FX still have this problem, and I have reinstalled both applications, just to see if this would fix them.

Hi,

I would have you perform a Refresh of the Operating System.

Refer the link-

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-IN/windows-8/restore-refresh-reset-pc

Refreshing the Operating System will reinstall all the apps downloaded from the Windows Store. But, the apps installed from other sites will be removed permanently. Proceed at your risk.

Do let us know if that works.
