Windows 8, Office 365 and Internet Explorer 10 crashes, freezes, errors, incompatability, etc. -- HELP!!!

I am having a hard time trying to get my new windows 8 computer working correctly.  It seems that MS has released an internet browser that is incompatible with their new operating system and their new office is incompatible as well.

I am running into so many errors and crashes with the new operating system and the new office and the new internet explorer 10.

I don't understand why these products are released if they are no where close to being ready.

I am really frustrated with my new computer and really contemplating returning back to windows 7 and office 2010 and internet explorer 9.

Why default everyone to update to this new software when it has more problems than the previous versions.

It would be nice if I could get some assistance from someone who actually knew about the products they are supporting.

I am completely unable to upload any files to my skydrive from the browser.  I am having many issues with word and powerpoint crashing and freezing.

All the new Microsoft software seems to be incompatible with itself... so why was it released and why am I stuck with a computer that has more problems than I can use it to fix?

Hi,

1. What is the exact and complete error message you get?
2. Did you make any changes to the computer prior to the issue?
3. Does the issue occur with any particular website or all the websites?

Office 365 and Internet Explorer 10 are compatible with Windows 8. If the issue occur with any particular website, then I would suggest you run that website in compatibility mode.

Fix site display problems with Compatibility View

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/internet-explorer/use-compatibility-view#ie=ie-10

If the issue still persists, then I would suggest you to perform clean boot and remove the program that is causing the issue.

Also, on the Desktop can you open the Action Center on the taskbar > Maintenance > View reliability history > View all problem reports

Can you right-click on a few of the "Internet Explorer"  "Stopped working" errors > View technical details

What are the details of the errors?

There is a "Copy to Clipboard" link at the bottom.

Paste the information first into Notepad and then recopy the information from Notepad to post here.

Multiple issue might be caused by overclocking.

Make sure overclocking option is disable in bios. Check CPU temp.

Both work flawlessly on my new HP Envy phoenix 800- 070st so I don't see this as a compatibility problem. The problem is probably the Manufacturer of the computer. It is their responsibility to make sure that their Computers can run   Windows 8 Correctly.  Hope this helps and if you need further assistance post and we will be glad to assist you.

This is on my Microsoft Surface Pro 128GB.

To start, Internet Explorer 10 crashes when I am at Skydrive.com trying to upload a file to my skydrive.

My surface is up to date with updates.

What do you mean by clean boot?  I don't want to have to reset the computer.

Also, office like word and onenote tend to freeze and lock up on me frequently.  Especially when I go to print or export.

Let's start with these few things and we'll go from there.

It's good to know that someone is there to help.

Thank you.

Hi,

I would suggest you to boot the computer into safe mode with networking. safe mode woth networking

Starts Windows in safe mode and includes the network drivers and services needed to access the Internet or other computers on your network.

Windows Startup Settings (including safe mode)
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-in/windows-8/windows-startup-settings-including-safe-mode

If the issue is fixed in safe mode with networking, then I would suggest you to perform clean boot. clean boot withh start Windows 8 by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This kind of startup is known as a "clean boot." A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

I was able to fix IE10 by completely resetting it.  I am still having other issues though.  I am working on an excel spreadsheet that is about 2.5MB in size and excel keeps freezing and not responding.

I have the 64 bit version installed and the only add-ons installed are adobe and visual studio 2012.

This happens on both my surface pro and my workstation.

The hardware on the workstation is very capable and should be plowing through an excel spreadsheet.

 - Intel "Haswell" 4th Gen. Core i7-4770K @ 4.1GHz Quad-Core CPU w/ HT

 - 32GB Corsair Vengeance Pro 2133MHz DDR3 Memory

 - 2x 512GB Samsung 840 Pro Series SSDs (RAID0 - over 1GB/s read/write)

 - Gigabyte Radeon HD 7970 OC 1GHz 3GB GDDR5 384-bit Graphics Card

I am having issues everywhere it seems with the new OS and MS applications.

Can I get some remote assistance support from Microsoft for this?

I don't think it will be fully understood how frustrating it can be unless it's been experienced.

Thank you again for all the help.

I had a lot of viruses, 18 at one point. It's most likely because we don't have virus protection but I don't web surf or go on illegal websites or anything. Advise?
