Windows 8 & IE 10 bug - Screen in snapped mode?

Greetings

A quick thing to report, reproducible of 3 computers ...

In Win 8, if an app is in snapped mode on the right, and the desktop is in the filled mode, an interesting thing happens in IE 10. It does not understand the boundary for the screen.

In "Full Screen" (maximize icon in top right), IE 10 has the Tools icon in the top right. Click it and the drop down opens from Right to Left, with File, Print, Zoom ... options.

  1. If IE 10 is not in full screen mode, then the Tools sub menus open from Right to Left if there is not enough real estate on the screen on the right side of the window.
  2. If IE 10 is not in full screen mode, then the Tools sub menus open from Left to Right if there is enough real estate on the screen on the right side of the window.

Both 1 and 2 are expected behavior.

Now, in my scenario, if an app is in snapped mode on the right side of the screen, and the desktop with IE 10 is in the filled mode

  • If IE 10 is in "Full Screen" mode, then the Tools sub menus open from Left to Right, and slips behind the snapped app.

This is not expected behavior and somewhat annoying ; perhaps a bug?

Hope this helps.
