Windows 8 and ActiveSync will work together?

I have a PDA (HP iPaq) with Windows Mobile 6 Classic (CE OS 5.2.1616). I just purchased a new computer with Windows 8 OS. I want to sync it with Outlook 2003. Will any of the ActiveSync versions work with Win8?

Here is what worked for me.  Go into Control Panel/Programs/Programs and Features/Turn Windows features on and off.

Add all the .NET Framework options (I used both 3.5 and 4).

Go to Devices and Printers/add new device.  Then viola, I had access to the device.  I happen to be using SOTI Pocket Controller on a Windows 8.1 system

I installed the Mobility Center, checked all the .NET options and my device still was not recognized.  I assumed that Windows would recognize Windows.  I went to the Toshiba website and downloaded the XP/Vista/2k driver and it worked.
