why does windows 8 compress your desktop wallpapers?

Hi this has been really bothering me why does windows compress your high resolution wallpapers?

Is there a fix for this?

Before we start troubleshooting on the issue please provide us with the additional information by answering few questions mentioned, this will help us to troubleshoot better.

 

1.       Does this happen on all the wallpapers?

2.       Were there any recent changes made to the computer prior to the issue?

 

Method 1: I would suggest you to change your wallpaper and check if the same issue occurs.

Method 2: If the issue persists then I would suggest you to try updating the drivers for the Video card and check if that helps. Follow the steps provided below to update the drivers.

a)       Drag the mouse to bottom left corner and right-click on the ‘Start icon’.

b)       Select ‘Device manager’

c)  In Device Manager, locate the device you want to update, and then double-click the device name.
d)  Click the ‘Driver’ tab, and then click ‘Update Driver’ and follow the instructions

 

Please perform these recommended steps and post back if you are still experiencing the issue.
