Using msconfig with windows 8 pro

“msconfig” is a run command used to open the system configuration utility. You can find the detailed information about System configuration tool and its features in the below link. Though this article was written for Windows 7, the information in the article applies for Windows 8 pro as well.
 
 
Note: Unlike Windows 7 system configuration tool, in Windows 8 pro, the startup services won’t be displayed in system configuration tool. You will find a link to open startup services in taskbar.
 
You can open the system configuration tool in Windows 8 pro as mentioned in these steps:
 
a) Press Windows key + R, to open the run command box
b) Type “msconfig” and press enter.
 
System configuration tool is mainly used to perform a clean boot to troubleshoot any issues. You can find more information about clean boot here:
