I left windows 8 unattended for a short time to find it shut down but not switched off. How do I wake up Windows 8? Tried hitting various keys including windows key. Not much luck.

The title has the details. Can you assist - reluctant to close computer down & restart as I believe W8 does not like this option.   Kevin

Hi,

You can find the screen saver and sleep time in Power Options....

There are also settings for Screen Saver by right clicking the Desktop and selecting Personalize...

Hi,

I don't know if it is in SLEEP or HIBERNATE, but moving your mouse or hitting a key should wake it up either way...

Try hitting ESC... or the Power button...

If this is the first time this has happened, your bios may not be enabling Wake by mouse, keyboard, etc...
