How to improve desktop graphics performance?

Original title Question about desktop graphics performance

Hi,

I have a MSI GE70 laptop which has a Nvidia GTX 660M graphics card with 2GB of memory.
Still I am getting only a 6,9 score in Desktop Graphic Performance.

How can I improve my desktop graphics performance score?

Any help is appreciated!

Hi Kiuru,

The appearance of your computer's display can be influenced by several factors. The monitor you use and its settings, how Windows is configured, and how you use your computer can all have an effect on display quality.

You need to look into the driver that is being used for your graphics card. Install the graphics card updates and check.

Drivers are updated occasionally. Windows can update them automatically, or you can install the updated drivers yourself. It's important for you to have confidence in the updated drivers you install. Windows notifies you if it detects a suspicious or unsafe driver you shouldn't install. Check for optional updates also as they might have hardware device related updates.

Troubleshoot video card problems:

You can also try this:

Set the computer for “Adjust for the better appearance” and check.

a. Click on Windows and X keys together and then click on Control Panel.
b. Click on the System and Maintenance
link.
Note: If you're viewing the Classic View of Control Panel, you won't see this link. Simply double-click on the System icon and proceed to Step d.

c. Click on the System link.

d. In the task pane on the left, click the Advanced system settings link.

e. Locate the performance area and click on the Settings button.

f. Select the Adjust for the better appearance.

g. save the changes and check.

Hello, thank you for helping me.

I forgot to mention that I am running windows 8.

I did all your steps and the only thing that changes was the score for the primary hard disk which went from 7,8 to 7,9.

Hi,

Is it a Windows 8 ore-installed computer or did you upgrade the Windows from other Operating Systems?

Uninstall Display driver from the device manager, restart the computer and check.

a. Press (Windows key + X) and click on “Device Manager”.

b. Expand “Display Adaptor”.

c. Right click on the Dislay Device and select “Uninstall”.

d. Restart the computer once the Display device uninstalls and check.

If the issue still persists, download and install latest display driver by downloading from the computer manufacturer’s website.

You can download the latest display driver from the following link.

My laptop had Windows 8 pre-installed.

After those steps the score for Memory (RAM) increased by 0,1 (7,8 -> 7,9)
