How to access gpedit.msc

I want to access Group Policy Editor, and followed these instructions

 

  1. Hit the Start key, type gpedit.msc, and press Enter. This will open the Local Group Policy Editor.
  2. Navigate to Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Control Panel > Personalization
  3. Double click “Do not display the lock screen,” and select Enabled from the dialog that pops up. Click OK

However I get the Error Message, "Windows can't find gpedit.mcs

 

What am I doing wrong?

Are you using Windows 8 or Windows 8 Pro?

 

The Group Policy Editor is only available in Windows 8 Pro.

 

Press the WinKey+R to display the Run dialog.

 

Type  winver  and click OK.

 

This will show the version you are using.
