How do I remove Windows 8 and return to Windows 7?

You didn't create an image of your drive before installing/upgrading? Tsk, tsk.

You'll have to do as Taupo Tech advised, or try the steps listed here:

I have not tested that method, but if it doesn't work, you're back to doing a clean installation of Win7 anyhow.

I'm running Windows 8 Pro and it is quite a poor experience. Using Media Center is almost impossible, especially when using a Media Center remote control and the overall ability to access the the things I need on my PC without having to access Start screen and then back to Desktop, and then back to Start screen, and so on, is very poor. I'm using a AiO, that came with W7. I ran thenW8ndows 8 Upgrade Assistance tool checks, all good apart from minor issues with needing to reinstall some apps... oh how I wish it was only that easy!!!

I disabled the lock screen, the 1st screen, by using Gpedit. Then killed the login screen by typing the password in from netpl.wiz instead.

Saves a lot of time pressing this and typing that. Then installed classicshell. Saves me going to start then the desktop. Now, it goes straight to the desktop

windows 8 will not allow me to change the boot to dvd to install win 7 .

How do I get into dos ?

win 8 will not even allow me to boot from dvd !

how do I get past this ?

On start menu I don't even have ( all programs )

As I understand, you want to downgrade to Windows 7 or re-install Windows 7. I am sorry to know that.

How did you purchase Windows 7, is it a retail copy or an OEM(came pre-installed) copy?

If you have installation disk, then you can refer to the section re-install Windows 7 and try to install it by going through the link below.

To get to Control Panel in Windows 8. Press Windows Logo Key+X. Then click on Control Panel.

If you are still unable to re-install Windows 7, then refer to the section" Using the Custom installation option and formatting the hard disk" in the above link.
