My suggestion is to completely ignore the Windows Experience Index.
It's next to useless; what it tells you is based on averages, not on
your computer and how you use it.

You should judge your performance yourself. If it's satisfactory,
great. If it's not, then look into ways to improve it.

I wish Microsoft had never included the Windows Experience Index.

Hi,

Other than overclocking your processor and\or memory, I don't think it is adjustable....

The test basically maxes out your processor, and that's about as fast as it will go....

That is a 1.7GHz processor, and you won't get a lot of speed out of it...

I have a Compaq with a similar chip, and get the same 3.9 score...

Yours is top of the range for the type. Found in laptops and on Mini-ITX motherboards, it is a low power consumption CPU, generally integrated (soldered to the motherboard).

If you want more, you need to move up to a better machine..

Windows 10 Pro - Start10 - part of a local network which is a '3rd party optimizer-free' zone..

Is there ways to improve it?  I am having a heck of a time with Windows 8. I'm ready to go back to Win 7

What make and model is your computer?

If it is a Netbook originally running Windows 7 Starter, there is a good reason for it. Windows 7 Starter doesn't include anything which requires heftier resources than are abosolutley necessary, bearing in mind the limited resources available in Netbooks.

There is no comparative edition of Windows 8, and it should be avoided UNLESS it comes pre-installed.

Windows 10 Pro - Start10 - part of a local network which is a '3rd party optimizer-free' zone..
