Casino component 'poker_lobby'_new is missing

Casino component 'poker_lobby'_new is missing

This is a popup that comes up when trying to open any of the I poker network poker sites.  I have searched all over the net for a solution to this problem. I would be deeply greatfull if anyone could help.

The second of my present problems is that my pc is running very unstable at the moment. The resource monitor tells me that the "liveComm.exe" Process has been Suspended. Does this mean anything to anyone. This is the only process that stands out above the others.

Hi Ricky,

Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft community forums.

I understand that you are getting an error message “Casino component 'poker_lobby'_new is missing” while opening the poker sites and also get an error message that livecomm.exe has been suspended.

I would suggest you to answer the questions given below.

1)      What is the browser that you are using to access poker site?

2)      If it is Internet Explorer, are you using Desktop version or Modern UI version?

3)      Is there any third party antivirus software installed in your computer?

Please post with the required information to help you.

For the error message “livecomm.exe has been suspended”

I would suggest you to run Microsoft safety scanner and check if the issue is fixed.

Download and run Microsoft Safety Scanner from the link to make sure you computer is not infected by virus:

http://www.microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx

Note: The Microsoft Safety Scanner expires 10 days after being downloaded. To rerun a scan with the latest anti-malware definitions, download and run the Microsoft Safety Scanner again.

Note: Any data files that are infected may only be cleaned by deleting the file entirely, which means there is a potential for data loss.

I have also this "casino_lobby_new" -problem on my Windows 8 Pro -computer and it's start after Poker host (www.ray.fi) update their client software, before that everything work fine. I have contacted Ray's customer service and they told me to update Adobe Flash player but I already have latest version, so that do not help me.

Poker softwere is not web based application (or at least it is desktop application) and i don't have any third party antivirus software installed.

Hello there again, Thank you so much for your reply. I have visited the sites you have recommended. All very useful.

I had however managed to overcome the problem before your kind reply came.

The problem is that I did so many things that I cannot be sure how I fixed the problem. I do have a hunch that the culprit was the Microsoft security updates that had been installed during the days before the problem occurred.  I uninstalled the network security updates and everything ran fine. The poker site problem has never reappeared.

I hope this information helps someone else overcome this very frustrating problem, all the very best regards, Ricky

Hi,

Yes you are right, one of the Security updates cause this problem. I have removed all updates that are released on 12.2.2013 and now poker client runs again. I am not sure which one causes the problem.

Hey can you guys just clarify what you did, because I am having the same problem. You said you uninstalled Security updates, but how did you figure out which one was causing the problem? Because i have a ton of security updates and I don't know if it will be a good idea to uninstall them all.
SimonGarceau how did you figure out your one? I don't have that update to delete. I don't feel very safe deleting wrong ones, so I just want to try get the right ones.

Hi,

I removed following updates:

KB2817183 (Internet Explored 10 security update) and KB2833510 (Internet Explorer Flash Player update).

I am not sure that KB numbers are same in your system because my version of Windows is Finnish.
