BSOD KERNEL_SECURITY_CHECK_FAILURE?

DanTrotter asked on

Hello, I've gotten a couple of BSOD's for this error KERNEL_SECURITY_FAIL_CHECK.

It's a PC I've built myself.

This is link to dump files and driverView file:

Any help would be appreciated...

Thank you!

Hi,

Both of the attached DMP files are of the KERNEL_SECURITY_CHECK_FAILURE (139) bugcheck.

This bug check indicates that the kernel has detected the corruption of a critical data structure.

Driver Verifier is enabled in both of these dumps - VERIFIER_ENABLED_VISTA_MINIDUMP, however it's flagging to detect a device driver in violation in either of them.

Interestingly enough, the process which crashed was the same in both dumps - WDDriveService. After taking a look at your loaded drivers list:

GVTDrv64.sys - Tue Sep 05 03:10:02 2006

^^ Gigabyte Easy Tune 6 driver (known BSOD issues w/Win7 and 8)

Dated from 2006, way too old for Windows 8 and I believe it's conflicting. I am going to recommend either updating this software if available - http://www.gigabyte.us/support-downloads/Utility.aspx?cg=2

or uninstalling it ASAP.
