Windows 8 will not list my home wifi network

Just installed Windows 8 on my HP Pavilion dv7 laptop that was running Windows 7. It now will not list my home wifi network and if I try to enter it manually it says it is already there. How do I get it to recognize my network?

Vinod, I tried all of your suggestions to no avail and finally ended up calling Microsoft Chat Support. A very knowledgeable tech, Urso U., promptly found the problem. Since Windows 8 was seeing all my neighbors WiFi networks, he immediately zeroed in on my router settings. Well, it seems Windows 8 does not like the 802.11g "enhanced" mode which my Motorola WiFi Cable Modem was broadcasting. By just changing this one setting and uninstalling and reinstalling the RealTek WiFi Adapter in Device Manager (to reset its settings), my laptop in now happily running on my home network. Thanks to all!
