Windows 8 Computer unable to connect to my home Verizon Wireless Router.

Original Titlte:Is it wireless or win 8?

I have a new (2 weeks old) Dell Inspiron running win 8 (came installed) with Centrino N223 wireless.
I cannot connect to my home Verizon wireless router.  The computer "sees" the wireless signal, but
will not connect (WPA2 personal; correct key, have retyped many times).  The N223 wireless card is
working since it will connect at free wireless sites.  All Win 7 computers in the house connect to the
home Verizon router with no problem.  If the wireless card is working, and the router is
working, then  .............  ?

I'm having similar issue connecting my Windows 8 laptop to my Verizon Jetpack 890L or the hotspot on my cell phone.  It does work with my phones hotspot if I change the network to CDMA.

1.  I have uninstalled my virus security protection suite
2.  Ran ipconfig /release then ipconfig /renew
3.  Ran ipconfig /flushdns
4.  ping the default gateway (192.168.1.1) and that fails

My laptop works when I connect to my home wires network (cable modem router).  Any more thoughts on this?
