Windows 7 Homegroup share not accessible by Windows 8 Microsoft Account

I have a Windows 7 computer and a Windows 8 computer.  They are in the same Homegroup.  The Windows 7 computer has a folder shared with the Homegroup.  The shared folder on the Windows 7 computer is not accessible from the Windows 8 computer when signed in with a Microsoft Account.  The folder is accessible from the Windows 8 computer when signed in with a Local Account.  Password Protected Sharing is turned off on both computers.  Is this behavior by design, or is it a result of a configuration problem?
Answer
Answer
Re-creating the Homegroup solved the issue.  I created it on the Windows 8 computer.  It was originally created on the Windows 7 computer.
