When I click on the network notification bar in the Windows 8 Consumer Preview, it tells me that I have no internet access.

original title: Win8: no connections are available
Hello all,

I'm sitting on win8 preview via 'remote desktop' and writing this post via IE10 (via proxy). But when I click on network icon in notification bar (it shows 'internet') there is a message 'no connections are available'. "Network and Sharing Center" tells that no connections are available.

any hints so far? One guess is that wire is connected to LAN2, not to LAN1. But since the system is located a far away there will be tricky to change this.

More related problems:
- can't register online/live user
- can't get a developer license for metro applications.

thanks

Answer
Thanks all for guesses,

I had to rebuild a machine due to this issue. Now it works better and I've managed to get a metro development license...
