Wifi connection dropping in Windows 8

Wireless connection continually dropping every 15mins or so.
Equipment: Dell inspiron 17, dell wireless card 1704, windows 8 64 bit;
Dell Truemobile 2300 router.
Other computers on same router do not have problems (using XP and vista).
From what I am reading, is there a compatability issue with Windows 8 and the router? Is there a new driver released for this? To resolve the problem, all i need to do is switch the wifi to disconnect and reconnect.
Many thanks for any assistance

1. Did you make any hardware or software changes to the computer prior to the issue?

2. Do you get any error message/code?

The issue can be caused by the network adapter driver or the router.

Method 1:

Refer "Use an automated troubleshooter" from the link:

Why can’t I connect to a network?

Method 2:

Refer to the link and follow steps given in the article:

You may also contact Dell support as it seems that the network adapter & router are not compatible with Windows 8.
