Cannot connect to the internet after installing Windows 8 Pro

I installed Windows 8 Pro on my laptop, but I can't connect to the Internet. When I diagnose the problem, it can't find the problem. I'm using a dell laptop. The notification on the corner of the desktop says that I'm connected. I am using a wifi which is working alright as I can connect  on my ipad with it. Anyone can help?

Thanks for the suggestions. However, I solved the problem before the suggestions came in. I uninstalled my antivirus and then refreshed the Windows 8, using the Windows 8 CD in. With the CD in, go to Settings. Click Change PC Setting. Go to General. On the right, scroll down to Refresh your PC without affecting your files. Follow instructions. It worked perfectly. I can now connect to the internet. Some downloaded software were removed and would have to be downloaded again. Personal files were moved to Windows old. These can be retrieved.

1. Do you receive any error code or message?

2. Which web browser are you using?

3. Did you try connecting to a wired connection?

4. What is the model number of the Dell laptop?

 

 

 

Please follow the below methods and check the issue:

 

 

Method 1:

 

 

Step 1:

 

 

Boot the computer in Safe mode with Networking and check if the issue persists by following the below link.

 

Windows Startup Settings (including safe mode):

If the issue does not persists in Safe Mode with Networking then perform a clean boot.

 

Step 2:

 

 

You need to perform a Clean Boot to prevent any conflicting third party applications from interfering with your computer.

 

 

To place the computer in a Clean Boot state, you need to follow the steps from the article mentioned below and check with the issue.

Note: You need to follow Step 3 from the article mentioned above to get the computer back to Normal Startup after performing all the steps.
