Windows 8 BSOD NETIO.SYS

Just purchased and installed Windows 8 via USB. I did a clean install and deleted all partitions so i'm working clean. However, when I try to connect to the Internet via ethernet or wifi, I will receive a BSOD crash. Will happen every single time. However, Internet is working via safe mode without hiccup.

Error given is: DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL (NETIO.SYS)

Anyone?

Thanks,

Chris

The latest minidump file showed a KERNEL_SECURITY_CHECK_FAILURE (139) stop error that appeared to be caused by the NETwNs64.sys:

BugCheck 139, {3, fffff88002af72b0, fffff88002af7208, 0}

*** WARNING: Unable to verify timestamp for NETwNs64.sys
*** ERROR: Module load completed but symbols could not be loaded for NETwNs64.sys
Probably caused by : NETIO.SYS ( NETIO! ?? ::FNODOBFM::`string'+1f9c )

Can you try running the following update utility from Intel and see if it picks up updates:

http://www.intel.com/p/en_US/support/detect

Thank you.

I performed that check and was prompted to install the wireless driver to:
Intel centrino wireless-n 1000 version 15.3.50.2

I installed then restarted but perhaps that is not the only issue since it is still crashing.

Just to close my issue finally, I never got this issue resolved. I took my device to a Microsoft store and they could not solve it either (and that's an understatement). I got a windows 8 refund and had to do a system recovery using the disks that were provided when I purchased my laptop. End result, a 2 month long painful process to have nothing upgraded or changed.
Looking back at everything and having some experience using Win 8 on a family member's computer, I'm VERY glad I ended up with my original Win 7

My suggestion to you is toss your PC out the window (preferably from a higher level of your house/building) and go to www.apple.com and purchase some stable hardware and software. Let me suggest a macbook pro.

Nothing but headaches with Windows and their support.

Hi mr.AzZ,

To get the best help you should start your own topic.

However I might suggest to uninstall the software that installed the tmeter.sys as the tmeter.sys appears to be the issue:

BugCheck 1000007F, {8, 80cf8000, 0, 0}

Unable to load image \SystemRoot\system32\DRIVERS\tmeter.sys, Win32 error 0n2
*** WARNING: Unable to verify timestamp for tmeter.sys
*** ERROR: Module load completed but symbols could not be loaded for tmeter.sys
Probably caused by : NETIO.SYS ( NETIO!ProcessCallout+8a )

The tmeter.sys is dated Sep 9, 2009 so may not be fully compatible with Windows 8.
