Windows 8 BSOD NETIO.SYS

Just purchased and installed Windows 8 via USB. I did a clean install and deleted all partitions so i'm working clean. However, when I try to connect to the Internet via ethernet or wifi, I will receive a BSOD crash. Will happen every single time. However, Internet is working via safe mode without hiccup.

Error given is: DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL (NETIO.SYS)

Anyone?

Thanks,

Chris

It may help to look at the minidump files from the crashes with a debugger.

Can you zip up the minidump files in the C:\Windows\Minidump folder and make available (provide link) via Windows Live SkyDrive or similar site?

The following link has information on using Windows Live SkyDrive:

http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/w7itproui/thread/4fc10639-02db-4665-993a-08d865088d65

If you have problems zipping the minidump files copy the minidump files to another location such as a folder on the Desktop

Also, you do not necessarily have to zip up the minidump files, you can upload them one at a time.

It is possible the problem may be with the Intel wireless adapter driver,

The NETwNs64.sys shows up as the cause of the crash in some of the crashes using BlueScreenView.

Which driver was installed for the Intel wireless adapter?

Thanks for your reply. Yes, it's very possible... however, I installed whichever one I possibly could.. from versions 14.0, 14.2, 15.3... every driver seems to crash. At that point, I couldn't pinpoint which would or would not work any further.

The wireless adapter is an Intel WIFI 1000.

Not sure how to proceed. Any suggestions?

Give this a try:

Locate the wireless adapter in the Device Manager and right-click the wireless adapter and select "Uninstall" and also select "Delete the driver software for this device" > OK

Then restart the computer and let Windows re-detect the device and install the driver.

Thanks for your reply. I followed your instructions, saw that a new wireless adapter was installed, and it seemed to be finally working, but once again the BSOD appeared. On top of that I am now receiving a new error when the computer fails to restart with the following -
"The application or OS couldn't be loaded because a required file is missing or contains errors . File: \windows\system32\winload.exe"

Thanks for your continued help, any ideas?

Any luck with figuring this out auggy? Anyone? This has been very frustrating and will have to resort to reinstalling windows 7 and recovering backed up files. I was very excited for windows 8 but an issue like this cannot be overlooked. Perhaps I'll give this OS a try next year sometime when I can get the appropriate updates.

FWIW, I have an HP pavilion dv7, purchased last year.

Thank you auggy.

I posted the minidump files with today's date here:
https://skydrive.live.com/redir?resid=59DC06459707BCEA!142

I am able to start windows, but need to disable wireless radio manually before starting up.  Once I turn it back on, my computer either crashes immediately or minutes later.  Sometimes when restarting after that error, I get the Recovery error I listed above.

Any more insight you can give would be really appreciated!
