Trying to run dual monitors on Windows 8, missing driver for my monitor S201HL

Original Title - Trying to run dual monitors on windows 8

I just bought a Lenovo desktop and Im trying to run dual monitor through a USB to VGA converter, worked on previous desktop.

When I troubleshoot it, it say it is missing the driver, so I go to the Acer website (make of my monitor) but the do no have the driver for windows 8 for my monitor the S201HL.

Please help.

You cannot use a usb to vga converter--or any converter for vga. USB is not a video feed. I think you must have a hdmi to vga converter but that won't work either. Monitors do not need drivers. They are plug and play. You have to match the port on the computer with the one on the second monitor. If it is a vga monitor, don't waste your time connecting a new computer. Connect a hdmi or DVI monitor instead.

this is what im using:

http://www.jr.com/siig-inc/pe/SI_JU000071S1/

It turns the VMA from the monitor into a USB that I can plug into a USB port on my desktop.

We were able to use it on our last desktop, but we just got a new desktop and it will no show a signal.

Thanks again for the help.

you probably need a driver for the usb to vga converter, which is likely to be faking a videocard or monitor on its own.
