The Bluetooth signal strength capability depends on the computer manufacturer. I would suggest you to update the latest Bluetooth drivers from manufacturer website and check if it makes any difference.

Just in case you do, it could well be that this is the cause of your sudden strength change. I found tips at www.bluetoothandusb3.com that fixed this.
