Sudden bad Bluetooth signal strength

I have a gateway DX4870 (built in Bluetooth) and tried connecting a pair of Bluetooth headphones. They where fine, until i moved and noticed that my computer's Bluetooth was terrible. 2 feet away from my computer and i get 1/5 bars of signal strength. before the move it was 4/5 or 5/5.

The Bluetooth signal strength capability depends on the computer manufacturer. I would suggest you to update the latest Bluetooth drivers from manufacturer website and check if it makes any difference.

-Is this issue specific to that device? Did you try using other Bluetooth devices and check if the issue persists?

If the issue is specific to that particular device then its hardware issue. What is the make and model number of the Bluetooth headphones?

Do you have any usb 3.0 devices by any chance?
Just in case you do, it could well be that this is the cause of your sudden strength change. I found tips at www.bluetoothandusb3.com that fixed this.
