Printer won't stop printing

Can't get my printer to stop printing. Had to take the paper out to stop it.  I've cleared all  documents that were holding to be printed. Someone told me I needed to clear the printers memory but I have no idea how to do that. I've tried everything I can think to do. The printer is Samsung ML 2510. I was trying to print 4 worksheets in Open  Office 3.1  and when I hit print it said it was printing 1 of 1550. I canceled it immediately but now every time I put paper back in, the printer continues those 1550 pages. How can I get it to stop?  My computer is HP  with windows 8, if that matters. PLEASE  HELP

Answer

Hi,

Let us work together to resolve this issue.

Here’s what you can try:

I would suggest you to follow these methods to delete the print queue:

a.     Press Windows key + R and type services.msc to open services.

b.     Right click on the Print Spooler service and select Stop.

c.      Press Windows key + R and type C:\Windows\system32\spool\PRINTERS.

d.     Click/tap on Continue and Yes (if prompted by UAC) to approve opening the Printers folder.

e.     Delete all files in the Printers folder until it is empty, and then close Windows Explorer.

WARNING: Do not delete the printer’s folder itself. Only delete its contents.

Now Open Services, and start the Print Spooler service.

Follow these steps to do so:

a.     On the desktop, press Windows key + R to open the Run Dialog.

b.     Type services.msc in the Run Dialog, and then press Enter to open Services.

c.      Right-click the Print Spooler service, and then click Properties.

d.     The Startup type box will be set to Disabled; change it to Manual.

e.     Click OK to close the Properties window.

f.       Right-click the Print Spooler service, and then click Start. The service should start without errors.
