My Bluetooth headset won't work with Windows 8

I have a HP pavilion G7 1303 laptop which had Windows 7 Home Premium (x64) installed. I recently (25.12) upgraded to Windows 8 Pro (x64) using the upgrade program. It said that Broadcom bluetooth software isn't compatible with Windows 8. I uninstalled it and then Windows automatically downloaded some drivers. Then I tried to connect my bluetooth headset (Nokia BH 103) with my computer and it won't work. Sometimes it tells me to check if it's still visible or something. It once connected it and adds it to the devices list (Under the device it says "no connection" or something like that, it's in Slovenian).

What should I do to make the headset work?

Thank you!

Hi,

Welcome to Microsoft Community!

You are unable to use the Nokia BH 013 Bluetooth headset.

The device is not tested to be compatible with Windows 8.

Refer the site:

You may follow the steps mentioned and check if the issue persists:

Method 1: Run the hardware troubleshooter

d.      Now click on troubleshooting

e.      Click on Hardware and sound and click on Find and fix problems with devices and hardware and proceed further.

Method 2: Update the drivers for the Bluetooth device

a.       Hover the mouse to the top right hand corner and click on search

b.      Type devmgmt.msc and hit enter

c.       Now locate the device, right click on it and click update.

Method 3: Install the Bluetooth driver in compatibility mode

a. Right click on the setup file of the driver and select Properties

b. Select Compatibility Tab

c. Place a check mark next to Run this program in Compatibility mode and select the operating system accordingly from the drop down list

d. Let the driver to install and then check the functionality.

Hope this helps. If the issue persists or if you face any Windows issues in future, let us know and we would be glad to assist you.
