LEXMARK X560N - need Windows 8 driver

Looking to install Lexmark x560n printer on my new Windows 8 OS laptop.
Can't find a driver for it during manual update and have tried generic class drivers without success.
Would appreciate help from those who have successfully installed x560n printer on Windows 8.

Answer

Hi,

I would suggest you to refer to the following article to know if the printer is compatible with Windows 8 and then follow the steps accordingly.

http://support.lexmark.com/index?page=content&id=OS27&locale=EN&userlocale=EN_US#Win8_driver

It looks like Lexmark has not yet released compatible printer drivers for Windows 8. So, I would suggest you to download the drivers available for Windows 7 and install them in compatibility mode. Here is the link from where you can download the drivers.

http://support.lexmark.com/index?locale=EN&page=product&userlocale=EN_ZA&productCode=LEXMARK_X560N#1

Now follow the steps to install in Compatibility mode:

a.       Right click on the driver installation file and select Properties then tap or click on the Compatibility tab.

b.      Place a check in the Run this program in compatibility mode box.

c.       Tap or click the drop down box and select a previous Operating System, then tap or click OK.
