Answer

Hi Paul,

Let us follow the methods given below and check if the issue persists.

Method 1: Run the Network and Internet troubleshooter and check if that helps.

Follow these steps to run the troubleshooter.

a) Move the mouse to the bottom left corner of the screen and right-click on the ‘Start’ icon and select ‘Control Panel’.

b) In the search box, type ‘Troubleshooter’, and then click ‘Troubleshooting’.

c) Under ‘Network and Internet’, click ‘Internet Connections’.

It seems that Asus Wireless adapter is not compatible with Windows 8,

Method 2: Also try uninstalling and reinstalling network card drivers in Windows 7 compatibility mode.

I would suggest you to download the latest drivers available for Asus Wireless adapter from the manufacturer’s website.

And try installing the drivers in Windows 7 compatible mode.

Refer to the link given below to install the drivers in Compatible mode.

Make older programs compatible with this version of Windows

Officially, it is NOT supported but there is a very good chance that the Windows 7 drivers will work..

See here for the drivers.. http://ca.asus.com/en/Networks/Wireless_Adapters/USBN10/#download

Windows 10 Pro - Start10 - part of a local network which is a '3rd party optimizer-free' zone..
