Answer
Answer
  1. Unplug the printer from the computer.
  2. Remove any drivers and software installed for the printer.
  3. Reboot to power off.
  4. Restart the computer.
  5. Navigate to:
    http://www.usa.canon.com/cusa/support/consumer/printers_multifunction/pixma_mp_series/pixma_mp240#DriversAndSoftware
  6. Download the appropriate driver package for your system. Be careful that the "bitness", 32 or 64 bit matches.
Install the package according to the directions. Do not attach the printer to the computer until directed to do so by the written instructions or on-screen prompt.
  7. After the package is installed, shut down the computer to power off.
  8. Wait a minute, switch the computer on. Wait until the desktop is completely loaded.
  9. Try printing.
