I have a Dell 3000cn and Just got a new PC with Windows 8 Pro.  I have tried installing the HP Color LaserJet 2605 PCL6 driver and also the 3000cn driver in compatibility mode.  I can get the printer only to print in Black & White no matter what settings I use.  Any suggestions??

If you install this driver and you only have monochrome output  you will need to change the PCL "Color Mode" from black to color in your printer panel.

There is nothing on the printer itself to change the color output, but on the printing preferences and properties everything is set for either Auto Color, color output.  No black and white is selected anywhere.

If I have the PC install the printer software itself using the 3000cn plug and play method, I CAN get it to print a color test page.  But gives an error anywhere else I try to print.  Trying to print something from Internet explorer give me a "Internet Explorer has stopped working".  If I go into the printer properties and change the driver to the HP 2605 PCL6 driver, I can print anywhere but only in B&W even though as I mentioned it's set to color everywhere.  Am I missing a step somewhere?  Seems like I'm really close to getting it to work and don't want to buy another printer since this one is great and fast!  Any additional help is appreciated and maybe a step by step procedure would help?

Thanks TMartinis!!  You're awesome....it's working now.  Didn't think the printer itself would need to

get re-configured.

Thanks again.
