Connectland Mouse not working

I installed a Connectland bluetooth mouse and it worked for a day. Now nothing happens. Windows 8 isn't responding to movement or clicks. The battery is fresh and the settings panel lists the device as working properly. I had replaced an earlier mouse because I thought it was an issue with the mouse. Now I'm not sure.
