Acer AO751h unusable in Windows 8 - Windows 7 drivers messes up Metro GUI

I upgrade our Acer netbooks (ZA3 / AO751h) to Windows 8.

The default Microsoft driver does not recognize the resolution of 1366x768. Please add that resolution to the stock driver.

I tried installing the Windows 7 driver by Acer in compatibility mode, but while it works in the desktop mode, it completely makes the Metro user interface unusable. All the icons turn up as digital noise.

Please fix.

It isn't up to Microsoft to produce a driver. Intel are basically responsible and they pass on the driver to Acer who then make it available.

The Intel GMA 500 will not get support unless Intel do something, and it is unlikely as the GMA 500 looks to be a discontinued product..

Windows 10 Pro - Start10 - part of a local network which is a '3rd party optimizer-free' zone..
