Based on the description, it appears that you are getting an error message “Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)” while trying to connect 4 Port USB 2.0 Hub on Windows 8.

Method 1: Run the Hardware troubleshooter and check.
Follow the steps to run the troubleshooter:
a. Press Windows key + C on your keyboard to show the Charms bar, click on search.

c. Now type Hardware Troubleshooter in the search option.
d. Click on Hardware troubleshooter to run the troubleshooter.
Method 2: Download the latest USB drivers from the Manufacturer’s website.
You can install Windows 7 drivers in compatibility mode if there are no Windows 8 compatible drivers.
Follow these steps:
a) Press the ‘Windows + W’ key on the keyboard.
b) Type compatibility in the search box and then press
c) Click “Run programs made for previous versions of Windows” option from the list appeared in the left side.
d) Select the drivers and install.
