Problems accessing files may be related to permissions. Let’s refer to the following suggestions and check.

 

 

Method 1: Copy the photos to a different location and then try to open it through Windows Photo viewer and check if can open them.

You may also try to open the photo using different application (Ex: Paint) and check.

 

 

Method 2: Let’s take the ownership of a file or  the entire folder which contains these photos and check.

Follow these steps:

a.       Long press the folder you want to take ownership of, then tap Properties.
(If you are using a mouse, right click the folder, then click Properties.)

b.      Tap or click the Security tab, tap or click Advanced, then tap or click Change.

c.       Tap or click Edit. If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

d.      Type the name of the person you want to give ownership to and click Check Names.

e.       The person that you’re giving ownership will have their account displayed in the box, click OK.

f.       If you want that person to be the owner of files and subfolders in this folder, select the Replace owner on subcontainers and objects check box.

g.       Click OK.

 

 

Method 3: You may not have the proper permissions. Let’s change the permissions.

 

Problems accessing files may be related to permissions. Permissions are rules associated with files and folders that determine whether you can access them or make changes to them. To check the permission of the file or folder, follow these steps:

a.       Long press or Right-click the file or folder, and then tap or click Properties.

b.      Tap or click the Security tab.

c.       Under Group or user names, tap or click your name to see the permissions you have.

To open a file, you need to have read permission. To change permissions on a file or folder, follow these steps:

Important: You may need to be logged on as an administrator to change file and folder permissions:

a.       Long press or right-click the file or folder, and then tap or click Properties.

b.      Tap or click the Security tab.

c.       Under Group or user names, tap or click your name to see the permissions you have.

d.      Tap or click Edit, then select the check boxes for the permissions that you need. Tap or click OK.
