File Access Denied after reinstalling Windows 8 - Pervious files that were in my 'Libraries'

After reinstalling windows 8 as a clean install in my Hardisk C:, I realized I am unable to access some of my files in my Hardisk D: namly those that I have included as 'Libraries' in my previous installation.

Please advise as I am unable to change the owner of those files!

Friend,
Try to run that file or folder as administrator by right clicking on it and then select Run As Administrator.

Try solution given here.  Do not use MSFixit.  Follow the manual instructions using windows.old folder

Finally able to change it - steps as below;

Right click> Properties> Security>Advanced tab>Change Owner>

"Enter object name" - click advanced to look for my email - my pc administrator doesnt work.

Dear Smitty,

Unfortunately I realised that sub folders and files are not working, I have to manually set the settings for each sub folders and files - which is impossible for the number of files

I have set the permissions as "Full Control" however it doesnt work, tried giving permissions to USERS, ACCESS CONTROL,ADMINISTRATOR, all doesnt work.

Please advise....
