Microsoft account information

I asked my mother for her work address to put in her Microsoft account and she felt scared. Why does microsoft ask you to put your work address in your microsoft account information.

What Microsoft Account information are you referring to?


It has never been necessary for me to enter my work address in my Live ID Microsoft Account.

Is this the type of form you are referring to?  If so they don't have to be completed

No. If your using Windows 8, go to PC settings. Click Users. Click the link More account settings online and it will bring you to the form I'm talking about.

That form as I see it does not need to be completed either.

I know. But why does the form have the option to put a work address on it and all your work information.

The form I am looking at only asks for the Country that you work in not any actual work address.


In an case nothing needs to be filled in.


These forms were designed by some Microsoft employee so I guess you need to contact Microsoft for any changes.
