Keyboard/typing messed up on laptop after installing Windows 8

I purchased and downloaded windows 8 on my Dell laptop that had been running Windows 7 Home premium. Now, my typing gets all messed up while typing in my email in Yahoo Mail ,and, I have just found out, in this box.It jumps around, puts characters I am typing back in other words, goes to the next line, possibly has to do with where my arrow is, but it is all messed up. Any suggestions on what to do next? This is unusable, very aggravating.
