Onscreen keyboard does not open on Windows 8

Original Title: Windows 8 On-Screen Keyboard

 

 

On-Screen keyboard would not load now after yesterday first use. Right click, run as administrator and double click icon did not work anymore.

Disarm anti-virus did not make any difference.  Bug? Very frsutrating.

Hi,

It looks like you are unable to start onscreen keyboard on the computer.

I would suggest you to check if you are able to find onscreen kebaord using run. You can follow the steps:
a) Press Windows and R key together to open run and type “osk.exe” without quotes.
b) Hit Enter and check if onscreen keyboard open.

If the issue still persists, I would suggest you to run SFC scan and check if you there are certain system files missing or corrupted which could be causing this issue.

You can follow the methods:
Method 1:
System File Checker is a utility in Microsoft Windows that allows users to scan for and restore corruptions in Windows system files
Perform System File Check (SFC), and then check if this fixes the issue.
Follow the steps:
a. Press “Windows Key + Q” to open Charms Bar.
b. Type “cmd” without quotes in the search box.
c. Right click on the “Command Prompt” and select “Run as Administrator”.
d. Type ‘sfc /scannow’ without quotes and hit Enter.

Method 2:
I would suggest you to check if there is any other application or program causing this issue.
