How do I get the Windows 8 Start screen to scroll left/right?

I've added apps to the Start screen, but they are to the far right.  The only way I can find to view them is to use the arrow key, going thru all the apps that show on the screen.  When I get to the right-most one, the next push of the arrow key shifts so the others come into view.  When I first set up the PC, there was an arrow on the right/left edge of the Start screen that indicated more apps were available....and clicking on the arrow shifted the screen to display them.

Move the mouse pointer to the bottom of my display on mine shows the bottom scroll bar.  Plus at the bottom right of the display is a sort of gray box with a minus sign that zooms out to see all.

The standard mouse wheel also scrolls my screen but on that screen it scrolls horizontal rather than vertical..  you can always right click and choose all apps on the bottom bar.
