Question

Q: Error message: The following error was reported: 2147750704

It seems that Windows 8 Pro shares a bug with Windows Server 2012: when Task Scheduler is asked to display a message or send an e-mail it does not accept it and displays the above error message. Scheduling to start a program works fine. This is a bug which was reported for Windows Server in 2012 already but it does not seem to be solved yet.

(A workaround was given by Vishal Gupta: http://www.askvg.com/fix-cant-create-tasks-to-display-messages-in-windows-8-task-scheduler/ but Microsoft ought to correct the problem)

Hi

When you see a feature or option that shows "Deprecated", it means the developers intentionally removed that option in this version of Windows. I have not seen any information about why this option was removed.

If you want to use this option, you will need to use the workaround that Vishal documented.
