Autorun does not happen with any disk on Windows 8

I installed Windows8 x 64. My autorun for inserted game disk does not work - Simply I put (Command @ Conquer Tiberium wars) disk into drive and it doesnt do anything (same for any disk). The Autorun feature does not work. How do I fix this?Wund

Welcome to Microsoft Community Forums and thank you for posting your query on it.

 

I understand that when you insert any CD in your Windows 8 computer, it does not auto-play/auto-run the content of the CD. I will definitely help you with this issue.

 

In Windows 8, we can change the AutoPlay settings as according to the contents of the CD/DVD. To get into the AutoPlay settings, follow these steps:

 

a)       Press “Windows Logo” + “W” keys on the keyboard to display the “Settings” search bar.

b)       Type “AutoPlay” in the search box and press “Enter” key on the keyboard.

c)       In the “AutoPlay” window, click on the check box which says “Use AutoPlay for all media and devices” at the top of the window to select it.

 

Note: You will have different options for different media to choose what action needs to be taken when any media/removable devices are inserted to the computer. At the bottom of the page, you can also see the option to change the AutoPlay settings for “Software and Game” media and you will be able to select any option from its drop down menu as your wish.

 

Note: If your PC doesn't support this technology, then you won't see this option in AutoPlay.
