Update has taken over 60 minutes to configure

My PC at work downloaded and install a number of updates yesterday (13th May 15) and has taken over 60 minutes (so far) to configure.  Any ideas?

We have updated 2 computers at work this morning as well and both are stuck on:

"Step 3 of 3. Preparing to configure Windows. Do not turn off your computer."

If anyone has any idea what update is causing it or anything we can do to sort it out it would be much appreciated.

EDIT: I probably should add:

Both computers are running Windows 7, all other updates are done. Both are standard Dell Precision desktop machines.

Sorry, another follow up email. I did just find this online:

http://www.netsolinc.com/faulty-windows-update

It seems to describe the problem we are having. I am nervous to just manually reboot the computer at the end of the windows update though without understanding what is happening.

I found this website as well:

http://community.spiceworks.com/topic/949387-how-long-do-you-let-a-computer-hang-on-a-windows-update

Simply press "Ctrl+Alt+Delete" and it will bring up the login screen. The update is complete but stuck, it will not hard power or reboot the computer. I have just tested this on one of our 2 machines and it worked perfectly.

Thanks,

James

Same game.  Dell desktop box running Windows 7.  Hung on 3 of 3 and Ctrl-Alt-Del took me right to login screen.  All seems fine.
